Scenario 1

  • Alcohol is being served but NOT sold.
  • Alcohol is purchased by the individual and/or organization.
  • Event attendees are specifically invited. (Not open to the public)

ASR Requirements

  1. Alcohol Service Request
  2. Banquet Permit must be obtained from the WA State Liquor Control Board.

Scenario 2

  • Alcohol is being donated or sold at a discounted rate to the event organizer, or is sponsored by a liquor manufacturer, importer, wholesaler, retailer, or campus representatives.
  • Event attendees are specifically invited/event is open to the public.
  • Alcohol is being sold.

ASR Requirements

  1. Alcohol Service Request
  2. UW Alcohol Gift/Contribution Form.
  3. Special Occasion License must be obtained from the WA State Liquor Control Board.

Scenario 3

  • Alcohol is being sold.
  • Alcohol is being provided by the individual and/or organization.
  • Event attendees are specifically invited/event is open to the public.

ASR Requirements

  1. Alcohol Service Request
  2. Special Occasion License must be obtained from the WA State Liquor Control Board.

Scenario 4

  • Alcohol is being provided and served by a licensed caterer and/or the caterer will be keeping the proceeds from alcohol sales.
  • Event attendees are specifically invited/event is open to the public.

ASR Requirements

  1. Alcohol Service Request
  2. Provide the Office of Special Programs with a copy of the Caterer’s Business License with Liquor Endorsement.
